Ten Commandments - Part Three Thou shalt have no other gods before me

I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

During my own personal journey, I deeply desired to understand the Ten Commandments, I have come to pass, gain knowledge right along with you, and I am taken aback how deep we can go on this passageway. I, like most people, was taught the Ten Commandments when I was a young child. For the residue of our lives it give the impression of common sense, and if taken at face value the Ten Commandments are reasonably simple. NOT… The Commandments has a way of attracting you, as you expand spiritually, most of us want to be better human beings. We yearn to teach our children to in actual fact, understand the deeper meaning of the commandments, as well as, and sincerely we want to attach importance to friendships, be evenhanded when dealing with others personally and professionally.

My obligation to confess, my family did not come from a “Good” belief systems, and we were not taught about God, or morality, and all the important ingredients’ for becoming a great energetic member of the human race. I am now proud of myself, (I am boasting just a pinch) for leaping or should I say limping across, in an enormously round about way, onto the PATH…

When I converse about the path, it’s a process to struggle by walking in the shoes of others; however, with my world of experience, I do have an open mind, when it comes to the world religions. It’s virtuous that people believe in God, even if it is in a form we might not understand. It’s so much better to me, then the person who looks in a mirror and only answers to himself. That is the kind of person that is dangerous, he is a walking zombie.

As for most people, many are merely lazy, to have faith in someone else to have more power then God, is off the wall. When I have my ArtGallery in TaosNew Mexico, people would congregate to meet all the “spiritual people.” These people they wanted to meet would read the tarot cards, tell your future, heal you, the more the person talked about themselves, their boyfriends, husband, friend, the happier the spiritual person was.

People believed the whole thing, this was a turning point in my life, people are sheep, they are scared, confused, disoriented, these people followed the spiritual people around begging for more, and of course paying for more. These people claim to be healers and teachers, each of these people claim God works through them. Sorry, but the real truth, we are all as close to God as our consciousness will bring us, without any outside arrangement to help us do this.

Once again, I have to say honesty, I have to learn to forgive, and that is something that holds me to this Earth as a lower person with a serious weakness of thoughts and feelings. I could never measure up to Moses, that is for sure, but I must pray to our one and only God to help me to learn to forgive. When you read about Moses up on the Mount Sinai, there is thunder and lightning, and a thick cloud; really spooky…These are dramatic expressions of the change of consciousness as we move away from the common things of life to the higher things.

When I become conscious that none of us starts of perfect, we all have faults; the secret is to overcome them. Now, from what I have learned, Moses understood that his people, he helped to rescue out of slavery, would want to go back, back to something that was familiar. That is why Moses recognized he had to get them across that Red Sea, before they would want to turn back, they couldn’t change their minds and go back to their comfort zone. This is another reason Moses kept the people in desert for a full generation. This way, the new creation could launch, and be converted into God people, to be familiar with, identify with and accept. The older people from Egypt would have already passed on, with a new generation to please our Lord.

To me the largest, enormous, warning is what comes out of your mouth, when you are jealous, pang of fear, thoughts of criticism, every time you speak an unkind word to anyone, and much more if you talk about them when they are not present. You are definitely shortening and destroying your life; cell by cell you are breaking them down, and making your body sick. Wow, that is all I can say. I have grown, at my old age, by writing about the Ten Commandments, and it feels so darn good, I just want to keep writing about them and maybe, I will have a thousand commandments by the time I am done. Blessings.
